From the Mississippi Watershed starts from the interconnections created by water as it winds through the unfathomable geography of the Mississippi River watershed. From this starting point, the series emphasizes the human constructed systems of interconnection and representation that share this space: production, consumption, distribution, identity, and more. I hope that highlighting these intertwined systems suggests the possibilities of new collective representations that can craft new systems of interconnection, community, and action.

From the Mississippi Watershed is the product of David's Photography Fellowship with Exhibit Columbus, which builds on the 2020-21 theme "New Middles: From Main Street to Megalopolis, What is the Future of the Middle City?"
