Welcome to Sociolography, David Schalliol’s irregularly updated collection of thoughts about sociology, photography and their interrelation, as well as highlights of David’s work and events.

An associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at St. Olaf College, David is academically and artistically interested in issues of social stratification and meaning in the social and physical worlds.

    Amazing. I don’t believe I have seen photography from so many different vantage points including carrying a ladder to catch the feel an area you are photographing. Very impressed and intrigued.
