Boys Starting a Fight

Since 2009 I’ve been working on a series of photographs documenting the Bloomingdale Trail, a disused elevated rail line in Chicago that is on its way to becoming a linear park.

I won’t complete the project until at least sometime next year, but I will be contributing six of the photographs to a large group show at the end of the month. The show, “Reframing Ruin: a Prelude to the Bloomingdale Trail,” opens from 7pm-11pm on Friday, July 29 at the Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival. (More details are available on facebook.) A diverse group of people is contributing to the event, and I’m looking forward to seeing the full exhibition.

I haven’t published many photographs from this project, so I’ve included few images from the ongoing series here.

Group Show Opening in Madison, WI on March 4

If you’re in the Madison, Wisconsin area on Friday, please swing by the opening of the CPM‘s National Juried Show, curated by Andy Adams of Flak Photo. My 20″x30″ photographs from Camden, New Jersey and Baltimore, Maryland in this post are included in the show, along with work by some interesting photographers working throughout the country.

The show is located in The Steenbock Gallery of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts & Letters at 1922 University Avenue. The opening will run from 6pm-9pm on Friday, but you can swing by to see the show on Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm until April 8.

Trunk Show Opening October 24

I will be showing a five photograph piece in The Trunk Show.

Here is the announcement:

The opening reception for the TRUNK SHOW will be on Saturday, October 24th, from 7-10pm. Barbara & Barbara Gallery is located at 1021 North Western Avenue (3 blocks south of Division), near the Empty Bottle.

The show will run from October 23rd – November 17th, 2009.
